Conclusion

Radar signals are highly reflective and laser signals are poorly reflective.  Today’s laser detectors do not provide a high enough sensitivity needed to detect lasers with a large “field of view.”  The V955 joins Beltronics’ best laser detection that uses twin laser ports for sensing energy distant from the main laser beam.  This includes off-axis signals providing a 360-degree range of view.  Whether your alerts are provided from the front or rear of your vehicle, they are the same signals.

With less upmarket features than the mid-priced radar detectors, the Beltronics Vector V955 provides drivers sufficient warning for most radar speed traps.  For those speed and red light cameras, you’re on your own, so slow down.  As you might already know, the smartphone compatible and GPS-equipped detectors will warn you of these.  You might have a few false alarms.
